Assembly 2026 returns to Somerset House Studios from 26‑28 March, turning the historic New Wing into a live testing ground for experimental sound and music. The biannual series commissions fresh works and brings together interdisciplinary collaborations, offering a rare glimpse of pieces that exist only in this moment.
The programme features a striking roster: DeForrest Brown Jr’s multimedia rhythm explorations, Jasleen Kaur’s intergenerational ensemble, Onyeka Igwe’s choral‑film hybrid, Mark Fell paired with Iranian percussionist Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, and a voice‑focused duet by Hanne Lippard and Renato Grieco. Each performance is paired with talks and audio‑visual installations that interrogate the boundaries between composition, technology and place.
